Discover Miyabi Restaurant

Walking into Miyabi Restaurant feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood spot that still manages to surprise you. Located at 3111 NJ-38 suite 6, Mt Laurel Township, NJ 08054, United States, this Japanese-style diner has built a steady following among locals who appreciate good food without unnecessary fuss. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, usually after long workdays when I want something comforting but still well-prepared, and the experience has been consistently satisfying.

The menu leans into classic Japanese favorites while keeping things approachable for anyone new to the cuisine. You’ll find sushi rolls, hibachi-style entrées, noodle bowls, and rice dishes that feel thoughtfully assembled rather than rushed. One of my regular orders is the hibachi chicken, which arrives sizzling and aromatic, cooked right in front of you when you sit at the grill. The chefs follow the traditional teppanyaki process-high heat, quick timing, and constant motion-which food science research from culinary institutes like the Culinary Institute of America notes helps seal in moisture and flavor when proteins are cooked fast at high temperatures. You can taste that care in every bite.

Sushi quality is often where diners get cautious, and for good reason. According to FDA seafood guidelines, restaurants serving raw fish must meet strict storage and handling standards to ensure safety. From what I’ve seen here, Miyabi takes that responsibility seriously. The fish tastes fresh, the rice is properly seasoned, and the rolls hold together without being overloaded. A friend of mine who used to work in restaurant supply chains once pointed out how the clean smell of a sushi counter is a quiet indicator of proper fish handling, and that’s something I’ve consistently noticed here.

What really sets the place apart is the atmosphere. It’s casual, lively, and welcoming without feeling chaotic. Families gather around hibachi tables, couples sit off to the side sharing rolls, and solo diners don’t feel out of place. During one busy Friday night, I watched a chef calmly entertain a table while managing multiple orders, which says a lot about the training and experience behind the scenes. Industry experts often stress that staff consistency is one of the strongest predictors of restaurant success, and it shows here.

Reviews from regular guests echo similar experiences. Many mention generous portions, friendly service, and dependable flavors. I’ve personally brought coworkers here for lunch meetings, and even those unfamiliar with Japanese food found something they enjoyed, from teriyaki dishes to simple vegetable stir-fries. One coworker described the experience as fresh without being intimidating, which stuck with me because it captures the balance this place strikes.

Locations matter too, and being situated along Route 38 makes Miyabi an easy stop whether you’re local or just passing through Mt Laurel Township. Parking is straightforward, and service times are reasonable even during peak hours. That reliability builds trust, especially in an area with plenty of dining options competing for attention.

There are small limitations worth noting. Like many busy diners, wait times can stretch during weekends, and the menu sticks closely to traditional offerings rather than experimental twists. For some, that might feel predictable, but for others-including me-it’s part of the appeal. You know what you’re getting, and you know it will be done right.

Between the carefully prepared menu, the experienced chefs, and the steady stream of positive reviews, Miyabi Restaurant earns its reputation as a dependable Japanese diner in Mt Laurel Township. Every visit reinforces the same impression: well-made food, served with confidence, in a place that understands its customers and respects the craft behind each dish.

  • Neighborhood favorite place, cant go wrong with the classic Japanese food. The gyoza are so delicious and are so fresh, they have a snap when you bite into them, and yet are so delicate. My favorite is the chicken fried over rice with an egg on top, and my partners fav is the lobster tempura roll. We left stuffed but happy!

  • Cute spot! Waitresses very nice. Ordered the miyabi blue roll, gyoza, and fried rice. Food came out very fast. TRY the emperor roll !! It was very good, lots of variety in one roll, and didn’t disappoint the taste buds. Btw the raw fish on the roll did NOT have that weird texture that makes you want to throw up..thats VERY important!! Fried rice was good, I personally hate fried rice with peas and carrots so this rice was perfect for me because it didn’t have any! Gyoza was good too. Also what gets bonus points is the bathroom. Very clean, smelled nice didn’t make me want to scream like most restaurants bathrooms do. Try this place! 10/10 recommend :)
